The Bottom Line

The Budge Duro is a car cover that comes in several different sizes to fit your sedan, SUV, hatchback, truck, van or stationwagon. Customer reviews are mostly positive, but it is not regarded as being one of the best covers out there. As it’s not waterproof or snowproof, it’s mostly geared to be used indoors or for short term outdoor use and the price reflects this accordingly.

We rate this cover 3.5 out of 5 stars. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

What You Get

One car cover (blue) with full elastic hem and built-in tie-down grommets. A storage bag or tie-down rope is not included with your purchase.

Features & Benefits

Budge Duro Hem
Full elastic hem

The cover comes with a full hem that will make sure the cover stays properly fitted around your car. For extra security, you can use additional rope or bungee cords (not included) to tie it down, using the built-in grommets.

This cover is water-resistant, but is not considered waterproof. It is therefore recommended not to be used outdoors and only for when your vehicle is stored inside and not out in the sun, rain or dust. As long as you take this into consideration it is adequate product.

The material consists of 3 layers: a water-resistant outer layer, a micro-porous inner film and a non-abrasive inner layer so as not to damage your vehicle’s paint or clear coat.

It comes with a very generous 5 year warranty and the product itself weighs around 6 lbs. It comes in a variety of sizes to fit your vehicle.

So, How Does It Perform?

Taking everything into consideration, the cover is a good value for money kind of product. It is not meant to be used outdoors for an extended period of time and as long as you know this and use it (mostly) indoors, it performs quite well.

We have seen several reports of buyers using it to cover their vehicle out in the sun, wind and/or rain for extended periods of time, causing the material to slowly but surely disintegrate and wear out. This cover is mainly intended to be used to cover your vehicle while stored indoors.

It will keep dust, dirt, leaves, bird droppings, etc. off of your vehicle so it does what it’s supposed to do in that regard.

As long as you get the cover in the correct size for your vehicle it fits well and stays put. Make sure you check the cover’s size as well as your vehicle’s size. Some buyers have said the cover is a bit small so keep that in mind when ordering one for your ride.

What Buyers Are Saying

  • Good value for what you’re getting. It’s relatively inexpensive and does its job.
  • If used outside long-term, it will wear out fairly quickly.
  • Material is durable, though a bit stiff and not very soft.
  • Be sure to check and then double check the cover size with your vehicle’s dimensions to make sure you get the correct size.
  • Both ends are marked so you know front from back.
  • Warranty coverage (5 years) is good and company is responsive to warranty claims.

I've been crazy about cars since I was a little kid and could identify and say a car's make and model. Now my mission is to inform and advise about all sorts of car accessories and parts, hopefully saving you some time in the process.

  1. Falsely advertised to be water proof when they are NOT! A complete waste of money!

I made the mistake of believing Budge’s advertisement and purchased 2 of these car covers that were supposed to be “waterproof” at great expense. However, neither is! the moisture soaks right through. I missed the return window because i was waiting for a good raining day to see if they were water proof. Budge covers are a rip off and a bait and switch. They would not let me return them. Both covers are worthless to me.
